Currently Available:  HVAC Product Features/Benefits Selection & Specification  Evaluation Guide

This is an EXCEL based form that gives the engineer a tool by which to document decisions about product selection.
This tool is intended to provide the engineer with a procedure to discuss the basis-of-design product criteria the client in a manner that can be documented for use in the product selection, specification and ultimate submittal review process.  This tool provides the engineer with the  backup support needed, as agreed to by the client, when it comes time to approving the product submittals and in reviewing alternatives and substitution request.  This documentation can also be used as part of a facility commissioning process or a LEEDS project product selection documentation process. This process is a logical process of documentation of the reasons WHY the product was selected.  If lowest first cost is the primary product purchase decision making criteria then why bother designing for optimum energy and comfort using products that perform in a superior manner?  This is just one of many questions that should be answered at the beginning of any project.  This tool provides a structured process by which the engineer can document the product selection decision which will avoid the potential of seconded guessing by the contractor, supplier and client when the proposals are presented at the time of the product purchase.

THERE IS A FEE for the HVAC Product Features/Benefits Selection & Specification Evaluation Guide Master Form which can be customized to each product category and specification section.
